Day -1 ( Stage -I )

 1. Stage I Selection System includes the following : 

     (a) Intelligence Tests ( Verbal and Non Verbal).

    (b) Picture Perception and Description Test. Picture is flashed for 30 seconds.  The candidates have to broadly note down seven basic parameters                       number of characters, age, sex, mood, action relating to past, present and future for each character in one minute. Time for story writing is four minutes.

   (c) Discussion on the Picture – 30 minutes. In this phase, batch is divided into different groups. Strength of group is around 15- 20 candidates. Each                   candidate narrates his individual story verbatim. Subsequently, in Part-II all the candidates have to discuss amongst themselves and achieve a common             consensus about the characters and theme of the story.

  1. Once all candidates have undergone stage I tests, the results for stage are declared. Recommended candidates are retained for stage – II testing. Those not recommended are dispatched back.

3. Major TO DO’s:

  • Marking of a person(s) in the picture with age as perceived, gender (same as yours),mood(+/-).
  • Write the Action he/she is performing in the picture (what you can see).
  • Write a Story based on what led to the situation, action and outcome with a positive note, easy/difficult problem where the main character is not a cause but a remedy for the problem.

Narration of the story in front of the group one by one and the assessing officers viz., one interviewer, one psychologist and one GTO.

[Put your story forward with the best of your knowledge, fluency and command over voice and while narration or discussion never look at any of the assessing members, look at your group].

  • Discussion and drawing of a common story from the group.

Put your story forward with the best of your knowledge, fluency and voice control. Never oppose anybody instead appreciate and give chances with a JOVIAL face. In the whole span of time of about 15-20 mins, even if you speak for 60 secs (twice for 25 to 30 seconds each). continuously and everyone listens to you quietly, YOU ARE IN. It is not necessary that you take a starting gallop in the discussion, wait for the chance but not too long and when you take your chance make sure that everyone listens. It is possible that your story may not be the group story but you should be with the group and never make any amendments in the final story. Try and give group story. Never oppose the group once the group story given.   

 

AFTER SCREENING RESULTS:

  • Filling up of the Personal Information Questionnaire (PIQ) Form.
  • Assigning of NEW Chest Number.
  • Ensure complete and correct details given in PIQ.
